Awwwwwwwwww rescue dog in Joplin rescues
a dog. How beautiful!

http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/bizarre&id=8156506

In an amazing story of hope, rescuers in Joplin, Mo., were looking for survivors who may be trapped in the rubble after a devastating tornado when a dog smelled another dog.

Cameras captured the rescue dog, named Javier, smelling what could be a person trapped under the rubble. Rescuers then heard moaning and frantically start pulling up the rubble.

The victim trapped underneath the debris wasn't a person - it was another dog.

7. He sure looked healthy
Must have had a good Sunday dinner before the tornado.
Must have been overweight before the ordeal - certainly looks remarkably healthy.

9. Uh oh,
look out for certain posters, who will crap all over this thread because somebody saved a dog instead of a person.

Our four-legged friends are heroes too! Even those who only provide companionship. (Cats too!)

20. I don't care if the rescued is on two legs or four
Edited on Sun May-29-11 08:58 AM by meow2u3
Four-legged lives are precious, too. To the trolls who claim it was "just a dog", I have this to say to you: what if it were your dog missing and trapped in the rubble?

I'm looking forward to the happy sequel: the rescued dog being reunited with his or her humans.

on edit: corrected spelling

27. I don't need to tell you that's
..awesome, but someone does need to tell some of you that meanwhile, back at the factory farm, pigs, to name one type of animal, though they're capable of feeling many of the same feelings we see in our dogs and cats, are suffering daily, trapped in tiny cages, denied all of their natural urges, institutionally tortured just so some people can have a diet known to science to be inferior to a plant-based diet. Boycott cruelty. Go vegan.
