GOP Rep. Mulvaney, Against Raising Debt Ceiling, Admits He Doesn’t ‘Know’ What Will Happen If It Isn
http://thinkprogress.org/2011/01/05/mulvaney-debt-ceiling-doesnt/

In recent weeks, a number of high-profile Republicans have stated their intention to vote against any increase to the U.S. debt limit. From Sen. Mike Lee (UT) to Rep. Michelle Bachmann (MN), these Republicans are essentially stating that they are willing to risk the country defaulting on its debt and a government shutdown if their demands are not met.

Yesterday, newly-elected Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R-SC) appeared on Fox Business to talk about his own intention to vote against raising the debt ceiling. The host asked Muvlaney if he was willing to “risk the possibility of a default on our debt.” Mulvaney responded that he has “no difficulty in” voting against raising the debt limit and that it’s worth it to “force a discussion” about spending. The host then followed up by asking, “What do you think would happen if the debt ceiling wasn’t raised?” Mulvaney responded, “Well, I don’t know. I’ve asked that question a lot. I’ve heard Goolsbee on Sunday say it’d be catastrophic, I’ve heard others say that. I did some research last night from , they don’t know what that means. I think they’re guessing”:

FOX BUSINESS HOST: You’re saying you just want to bring up the issue of spending, which a lot of people agree is the key issue of our time, or are you saying you’d vote to not raise the amount of money our government can borrow and risk the possibility of a default on our debt?

MULVANEY: It depends, if we don’t make structural changes, if we don’t actually send the message to the markets, to the people to businesses

MUST inform 'critters' and the public what it would mean/result in, literally. SPELL IT OUT.

No more damn pussy-footing, on effects of ANY of their proposals/suggestions/ideas.

Maybe Bubba has to get out there and EDUMACATE, as peeps seem so 'uncomfortable' with our Professsor in Chief.

6. Majority of them ..
don't know what they are voting for or the long term consequences.

They always create the problems and blame the Dems and usually get away with it because most people don't know or didn't know what is going on..especially TEABAGGERS.

4. Republicans want to steal your savings bonds
Do you hold any savings bonds? Ever buy one for a grandchild or your favorite niece? Take a close look at the envelope when it comes: It comes from the Office of Public Debt. If the United States defaults on its debts, anyone who holds a savings bond will lose their investment. The Republicans would like to steal your savings bond.

Or is that too many steps and too hard a concept to grasp? Could be too difficult for our popular media to explain to the average person. Never mind.

5. The last time these jokers pulled this stunt, the country was far better off economically.
This time, the consequences could set up so many unintended results that they could implode this country. Perhaps that is what they want to do...but, if that is their agenda, sure sounds like an act of treason to me. At some point, the vast majority of US citizens are going to have to confront and understand what this Party is doing to this country in their desire to impose an ideological dogma that is the antithesis of what this country stands for.
