2. Reid is able to keep the "first day" going for about 2 weeks, from what was said on Countdown, etc

Sounds like Dems are still hammering out the reform package.

The reporting was

- get rid of secret holds.
- if you want to filibuster a bill, you actually have to drag your FAT LAZY REPUBLICAN ASS into the Senate Chamber and defend yourself. like the Olden Days (Mr. Smith Goes To Washington).

Given the lazyness and worry about missing Vacay we saw exhibited by Republicans during the lame duck I think this will greatly reduce their bull shit.
