6. It's easy to ask
After all, powerful interests in this country invest a lot of time and money making sure that war, military and violence are seen as noble pursuits, the highest expression of patriotism. We have all kinds of public entertainments out there to encourage the citizens and indoctrinate the kiddies, and they willingly and gladly send their sons and daughters off to kill and die. How can you ask someone to do that? It would insult the efforts of those interests not to ask.
