Seriously, every time they release something - the first thing that comes to my mind is "....Yeah... sounds about right."

These bulletins don't shock me in the least.

Who else feels the same way?

2. Is there a requirement that news should be shocking in order to be news?
When did this happen?

3. The sun rises and sets relative to our perspective on Earth if it stopped that would be news.
I haven't seen much real news that wasn't clear to most of us already

4. Unrec - you did not know a lot of this.
You had suspicions, connect the dots, etc but you didn't have
Verifiable knowledge. Now you do.

6. Also, the government had plausible deniability before.
It's not just that people say that they've been doing XYZ, it's that their notes confirm that they've been doing XYZ.

9. I was shocked by the revelation that th WH was actively

involved in the attempt to protect the Bush architects of torture from being prosecution in Spain.

I was following that case hopeful that, since this president had made it clear they would not be held accountable here, that at least they were being held accountable out of the reach of the U.S. Government as it was clear then, that they had nothing to fear from either party.

I remember Spain decided to wait before proceeding, hoping that a new administration would go after our war criminals. And they did not want to interfere with that process, or repeat it. Bush, they thought, was a different story.

Like the rest of us, they, Spain, expected a restoration of the rule of law. But, that was not to be so they were about to proceed.

Now we learn that the long arm of the U.S. Government reached across the ocean to protect Bush war criminals and that this president was actively involved. Meaning he DID have time 'to deal with war criminals' contrary to what he claimed: 'we have more important things to do'. This was apparently one of those important things he found time for, to protect Bush criminals.

THAT was a shock to me.

I was shocked by some other revelations also, such as the revelation that the U.S. State Dept. had attempted to smear the highly respected judges from the European Court of Human Rights! Why??

We should be shocked, if we are not, it means we have become complacent and as a result, complicit.
