Two Very Important Graphs Were Released Today That Are Well Worth Checking Out
Edited on Fri Jan-07-11 02:57 PM by Turborama
This morning, the Department of Labor released its jobs report for December 2010 finding the unemployment rate dropped to 9.4% – the lowest level in 19 months. They report the private sector grew for the 12th straight month, with 113,000 private sector jobs added in December and more than 1.3 million added in 2010:

In total, 103,000 jobs were created last month and 1.1 million jobs in 2010 – more than President Bush created in eight years:

Leader Pelosi on the report:

Today’s jobs report provides evidence that the policies of the Democratic-led Congress are helping to create jobs and revitalize our economy – adding more jobs in 2010 than President Bush did over eight years. With so many Americans still looking for work, now is not the time to reverse course.

1. Thanks for posting those
I saw them on Flickr this morning, and meant to do it sometime.

Two of my favorite places on Flickr:

5. Thank you for the links
I have to be honest , I didn't know she had a Flickr account. That other site looks great, too.

I think I might have to finally give in and join so I can start putting some of my photos on there when I get my new DSLR this weekend.

Thanks again :hi:

2. Those are strange graphs. The length of time the graphs cover should be the
same for both administrations.

6. Not strange at all . Both graphs start in Dec 2007, because that it when the recession started.
The point about how many jobs were created under Bush's 8 years versus those under Obama are not in the graphs.

The loss of jobs from Dec 2007 to the day Bush left office WIPED OUT most of the job gains created from when he took office to Dec 2007.

3. How many of those 'added' jobs are in China or India?
Or elsewhere? Are those counted in these numbers? 'Creating jobs' is a generalization. WHERE are they created?

7. No. Jobs are here. This data reflects American jobs.
Unless you want to argue that Bush was losing jobs overseas.

4. Unless you add more than 150000 jobs every month, there will be no real improvement in the
unemployment rate

8. Which side of this graph do you prefer?
Which side is better?

What the graph shows, is that after the stimulus passed (Feb 2009) the TREND changes direction.

So which trend line do you prefer?

9. Exactly
How anyone can find something to complain about this graph astounds me.

Democrats should be proud and Republicans should be hanging their heads in shame.
