I actually had an argument w/a right wing cafeteria christian

who maintained there was a study out of Chicago that shows and "every expert out there" agrees that if everyone was armed, we'd have no crime in America.

So I posed my favorite scenario: You have a shooter in a public place. Concealed carry hero draws gun and engages shooter. a 2nd concealed carry happens on the scene and determines the "hero" is a bad guy and starts engaging him. another hero comes on scene and kills that shooter. When you die and go before Jesus, do you say "my bad, I thought he was a bad guy."

When police arrive on scene, how do they determine the bad guy?

He could not come up with anything but saying he could not see that scenario ever happening. I countered: but you chose to believe that if EVERYONE carries, crime will stop???? You actually believe that/ Will you show the "study" to me?

Reality of the real west is not something they understand or they over look because the evidence shows that even when people carried weapons there were still murders of innocents going on even though they were armed innocents. Getting shot in the back by ambush was far more common then getting shot in a gun fight. At least 99% of this all armed populace stems from TV and not history books.

20. My question is "What makes you think everyone is such a good shot?"

Why does he believe everyone (most with little or no real training, and fewer with regular practice) will be a Dead-Eye Dick and only hit what they intend to. Say you engage a shooter, jerk the trigger in the rush, throw your aim off and and hit someone who wasn't involved but (line-of-sight-wise) was a little to the shooter's left. After shooting an innocent person, are you still the "good guy"?

Not to mention the fairly obvious point that concealed or not, you can't shoot back if you aren't given the chance. That amounts to violent ambushes, not elimination of crime.
