2. I believe many of them WANT to feed teh crazy

They feel relatively secure in that teh crazy does not threaten them personally, and they desire teh crazy to be directed at Democratic targets. IMO those who feed teh crazy fit the definition of 'terrorist' to the same degree as the deranged individuals who actually pull the trigger. Isn't their goal to intimidate, influence & coerce just as incriminating as what the shooters hope to accomplish?
