Will This Event Bring Back The Fairness Doctrine?

It is a cable network. The Fairness Doctrine wouldn't apply to it anyway.

The Fairness Doctrine, were it to come back, would apply to things like terrestrial radio and NBC/ABC/CBS/FOX network news. The idea for bringing it back would be to bring some balance to AM/FM radio.

Makes no difference, The Fairness Doctrine is not coming back.

I was majoring in Philosophy in the late 70's...the game was introduced to me by my "Critical Thinking" professor...Phil 105. It became an obsession among both grads and undergrads. Modus Ponens, my friend.

I tutored many in logic through Quantification. Very interesting stuff. I remember one project where we were tasked with reducing the number of rules of inference to the absolute minimum. I believe one student was able to get it down to three.

Having a combination of Math and Phil must have made you quite the wizz at logic.

16. Just general. It was an undergrad degree. Funny thing about the combination...

I would walk out of one building, having just studied a philosopher, and often when I walked into the next I was studying the SAME person as a mathematician. Apparently it used to be a common combination.

I have long since lost my copy of the game. I do wish I still had it. It brings back a lot of memories.

I recall that I faced similar experiences when it came to philosophers/mathematicians. Even though I didn't study math formally, I remember studying some great philosophers that wrote a considerable amount on the subject. I'm thinking perhaps Whitehead among others.

I think a lot of the similarities dealt with the pureness of mathematics as a language. This merges with logic's attempt to quantify language.

The hate spewed every day on talk radio by the likes of Rush Limbaugh incites violence. The Fairness Doctrine would go a long way in curtailing this kind of rhetoric. k&r
