Sheriff Dupnick - here it comes - the RW has a distraction for a bad guy
“When you look at unbalanced people, how they respond to the vitriol that comes out of certain mouths about tearing down the government. The anger, the hatred, the bigotry that goes on in this country is getting to be outrageous. And, unfortunately, Arizona I think has become sort of the capital. We have become the Mecca for prejudice and bigotry.

“It’s not unusual for all public officials to get threats constantly, myself included. And that’s the sad thing of what’s going on in America. Pretty soon, we’re not going to be able to find reasonable, decent people who are willing to subject themselves to serve in public office.”

DUPNIK: Let me just say one thing, because people tend to poo-poo this business about all the vitriol that we hear inflaming the American public by people who make a living off of doing that. That may be free speech. But it’s not without consequences.

REPORTER: How do you know that that’s what caused it.

DUPNIK: You don’t?

A quick search of his name turned up two. None of us here will be surprised if HE doesn't became the focal point of the RW machinery. You are right Sheriff (about this) best of luck to you.

Leftists: Have You No Sense of Decency Left?

Local RW hack responds immediately
Yet Dupnik took his moment in the spotlight to drive a political wedge into the event. They were reckless and dangerous statements made by someone who should have known better. He should have been using his time to help bring the community together. Instead his statements made Tucson appear to be a city full hate, bigotry and vitriol. To say, as Dupnik did, that comments made on the airwaves essentially motivated this person to commit this crime is exactly what he blamed talk radio of doing, inciting through pure rhetoric. It was complete misuse of his power and he owes the media in town, TV and radio, an apology for his horrible comments in the middle of such a tragic day. He should step down immediately from his position as Pima County Sheriff.

by taking this tough guy stance. This hurts their cause with normal people so good for them in making the case that they are the violent hatemongers they said they were.

8. You don't get it. You just don't get it.
Hatred, vitriol, and hit lists have nothing to do with people actually being shot, or any violence that results from their messages.

Neither should anyone ever be held responsible for any fires started by playing around gasoline with matches. After all, it's the volatility of the gasoline that caused the problem.

6. Yep. They'll bring down their brown-shirt shit-storm
like they always do. No doubt the sheriff will get death threats and the rest of it--further proving his point, of course.

15. I agree. Palin's people already responding with, of course, great irony
In the wake of the shooting, many people drew attention to a map of the United States that had been part of one of Ms. Palin's Web sites that showed targets on the districts of lawmakers who supported President Obama's health care legislation.

Ms. Giffords was one of the targeted lawmakers, as she noted in an interview on MSNBC last year.

In a radio interview Saturday night, one of Ms. Palin's top aides, Rebecca Mansour, said of the map of lawmakers: "We never, ever, ever intended it to be gun sights." Ms Mansour said attemps to tie Ms. Palin to the violence were "obscene" and "appalling."

"I don't understand how anyone can be held responsible for someone who is completely mentally unstable like this," Ms. Mansour said. "Where I come from the person who is actually shooting is culpable. We had nothing whatsoever to do with this."

She added: "People who knew him said that he is left wing and very liberal. But that is not to say that I am blaming the left for him either."

Ms. Mansour, who helps run SarahPAC, Ms. Palin's political action committee, made the remarks to Tammy Bruce, a radio talk show host, on a podcast made public on the internet. Ms. Bruce is introduced at the beginning of her show as "a chick with a gun and a microphone."

Ms. Bruce complained on her show that liberals were incorrectly politicizing the shooting by blaming conservatives.

"We all know that the liberals, there's something wrong with them," Ms. Bruce said. "The reaction on the left was to start blaming somebody."

Ms. Bruce added that: "Saying that a mass murdering crazy guy is representative somehow of the political dialogue going on, especially with the non violent Tea Party movement....and yet there are attach this to the tea party and other politicians."

20. Thanks for posting this interview
I only have one thing to say to Ms. Mansour regarding her words, "We never, ever, ever intended it to be gun sights."

Then Ms Mansour, answer me this - WHY THE FUCK DID YOU USE THE SYMBOLS FOR GUN SIGHTS, YOU LYING FASCIST?

10. Oh. . .Jon Justice. . .I used to have fun playing with this asshole
One of the larger mortgage firms went out of a business. His statement was we should all work to make the unemployed mortgage brokers lives easier with free job fairs and job skills training for a new career.

I called in and pitched the typical tea party "not with my tax money" line and the "personal responsibility" line. I listened to this clown start sounding like Kingfish and telling me that "my world" was not "his world."

The next day, he railed against unemployment and welfare "queens," telling them to pick themselves up by their boot straps. I called in again and told him it also applied to mortgage brokers and he spent 15 minutes fumbling over his words and trying to backtrack. . .after hanging up on me.

18. I've played that with people too
I know a farmer who gets tons of subsidies from the government, and he's always railing about how he's tired of his tax dollars going to welfare and so forth....so I told him I have no problem with that, and they need to get rid of any kind of subsidy programs that the Department of Agriculture issues. You'd have thought I shot his dog by the reaction on his face...."they can't do that!" and I said, "well, as much as you're tired of your taxes going someplace else, i'm tired of my taxes going towards your subsidies." "But, I depend on those subsidies to live on!" They want no government in their lives until it's a benefit for them. As if they're more important to receive government assistance than anyone else.

12. Absolutely
By the time Rush, Beck, Hannity, etc. get done with their shows on Monday they'll have demonized this guy so much a person will wonder how he got elected sheriff. As someone said the truth hurts, and people like Rush and Beck can't handle the truth.

13. What all these RW hacks seem to be missing is...
The Sheriff is privy to what is going on as far as the suspect interviews go and what Loughner was saying. He would be in a better position to know whether this was politically motivated--i.e., Rush, Beck, O'Lielly, etc.
