Must we waste time listening to or participating in a "debate" about which ideology is reponsible for the hateful rhetoric and violent political attacks now plaguing us?

Let's not "FOX-itize" reality, OK? Merely chanting "fair and balanced, fair and balanced" over and over again does not mean that there are actually two possibilities that must be "balanced".

This kind of hateful nonsense is OFFENSIVE, people! We should BE offended and we should let is show!

How about responding with something like "Enough of that ditto-head bullshit! If I wanted to listen to hateful nonsense, I'd tune in to Limbaugh or Beck!"

1. people's ability to perceive reality is so managed by media

it feels overwhelming to me. Brainwashing of americans has been going on for years and is so incredibly successful. People who use the internet for information and news are a sliver of the whole. And interestingly, when i posted several articles related to the gifford shooting on facebook, the only one to which someone responded was one about the young intern who provided immediate first aide to representative giffords.

what this indicates to me is that even friends and family don't want to understand or read about issues that I bring forward. this makes me think that either they are uninterested or they get their information from other sources and don't find my information credible.
