a gun toting, card carrying Dem from Texas. I have some flaming liberal friends here and we go out to the gun range all the time. The difference between us and RW on the firing range...RW have NRA cards, we have an ACLU card.

I grew up using guns, mainly to protect crops and self protection. In all honesty I have shot more cans than anything else. I think there is nothing wrong with responsible gun ownership and I don't intend to give mine up anytime soon. I have gone through several hurricanes where there was no power and little law enforcement around. Our neighbors did not complain about our guns then and felt comfortable that looters would not be tolerated in our neighborhood

Let's just there are some liberals that can give as good as they get.

either. In fact, it would bother me a lot to think citizens were so irresponsible that gun ownership were not possible. It's been years ago, but when young I learned about guns and spent time on a gun range target shooting. I had a lot of fun and was actually pretty good. It was a national guard program here, they were at a scout camp I used to attend.

My feeling on guns is those that want to do damage with a gun will always get one. I recall the Saturday night specials, people always got guns. All severe restrictions would do is create yet another black market.

I do have a difficulty thinking "any" type of gun is well and good though.
