This is the letter to the editor I just submitted to the local paper;
Christina Taylor Green, 9, Dorothy Morris, 76, John Roll, 63, Phyllis Scheck, 79, Dorwan Stoddard, 76. and Gabriel Zimmerman, 30 died in the Tucson shootings. Rep Gabrielle Giffords is fighting for her life now, and likely suffered permanent damage in the attack. And others were wounded as well. I am still angry and disgusted over this atrocity, and feel that the poisonous political climate we have led to this.
When we have candidates calling for "Second Amendment Solutions," or Sarah Palin having a map with cross hairs over districts with Representatives she wanted out of office (one of whom was Rep. Giffords), people showing up armed at political events, and hatred being pumped out daily by the likes of Glenn Beck, Michael Savage, Rush Limbaugh, and so on it was inevitable that some mentally unbalanced person would turn this into horrific action.
In the coming days conservatives will offer excuses. Such as how they are independents, how the left does it too - especially unions and the Black Panthers, and so on. You know what? I don't care. What I care about are the parents, spouses, and children left to mourn their deceased relatives, especially the parents of Christina Green. I care about the families of the wounded. I care about our nation, and hope if anything this tragedy finally gets this country to turn away from this hatred and its purveyors before it is too late.
Think the local teabagging crowd is going to be very happy with me for this?
