In 1996, Chuck Colson (Nixon's hatchet man turned religious leader) opined in the Catholic intellectual journal "First Things" that the time for open and violent revolution would come in the culture wars. He ended by saying he didn't think the time had yet quite arrived. But when peaceable means and limited civil disobedience failed, it would be time for violence to stop judicial activism and (by extension) congressional activism.

I just want to note that a discussion of violence as a method of pushing their values has been part of the leadership of conservative Christians for many years already. This isn't new talk. They've considered it already.
