The reality on the ground....

It's far too late to find a credible democrat to run against president Obama.

Face that fact.

What we need to do in order recapture the Democratic party from the DLC Third Way junta is to start organizing at the state and local level.

Run for precinct committee members, recruit people to run in every precinct, organize the elections, ban together and spend a little money to make sure that you and your recruits win.

Then you take control of the party machinery.

Establish an endorsement process, back that endorsement with action and you will have political leaders in debt to you.

Then you recruit candidates for city council, county office and state assemblymen or what ever they call themselves in your area.

Continue raising money from the people.

Start holding rallies and raise money to advertise the party slates.

Establish power bases, build on your success, make sure the statewide candidates know you are there and that you can deliver votes to them.

Push, Push, and then Push some more.

Or, you can hang around on a message board and piss and moan about how awful the political process is and man we wish someone would run against the (insert leader here) who would be a real democrat....

Changing the political reality on the ground takes years, decades.

The right has been doing this since Pat Robertson established the Christian coalition. They started small and built on the foundation surrounding the "religion" Robertson had created....

The problem is that nobody wants to do all this work.

Until we bite the bullet, we will continue to face the problems that we currently have...

And we will continue to be swept up in the emotional appeal so many of our candidates display.
