Radio hosts: We won’t back down
http://www.bostonherald.com/news/national/general/view/20110111radio_hosts_we_wont_back_down/

Embattled conservative talk radio yakkers in the Hub and across the nation lashed back at media attacks blaming them for the Arizona rampage that left six dead and U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in critical condition — insisting they won’t be silenced by a campaign of “intimidation and smear.”

From Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck to local radio hosts Michael Graham, Jeff Katz, Howie Carr and Todd Feinburg, right-wing gabbers have come under fire from liberals and others for “violent rhetoric” that some claim incited deranged loner Jared Lee Loughner, the suspect in the massacre.

“If you’re going to accuse me of being an accessory to murder, it would be nice if you had at least some small evidence — and no one can present it,” Graham, a WTKK-FM (96.9) host and Tea Party organizer, told the Herald yesterday.

Katz, the morning-drive host on “Rush Radio” WXKS-AM (1200), said Loughner, 22, is the only one who should be held to account for the slaughter.

1. Then WE'LL back you down, you assholes.
We'll keep filing reports against you, exhorting your advertisers to drop you, and shouting against all your violent rhetoric. This battle has just started, assholes.

2. And they never will
as long as they are rewarded with listeners and Congressional seats.

Why the hell should they? All the local stations do is "plug and play" 24 hours a day. Hell, makes you wonder why they even keep a studio.

As long as it is profitable, and serves the aims of the filthy rich Republicans, they'll never change...nomatter how many innocent people are slaughtered.

3. Those who write the laws could & should make you back down.
Freedom of speech doesn't mix well with treasonous remarks. Your hate talk on the public airwaves against American principles crosses the line of decency. You are all the modern-day equivalent of Tokyo Rose.

4. Reference: Alan Berg, 1934-1984
The murder of Alan Berg in Denver: 25 years later

Right now, in this climate, I don't think a combative tone on their part is really such a good idea. After all, both ends of the political spectrum have their nuts.

5. What else have they got?

only a tiny segment of the population listens to these hate-mongers, but they hope and dream every day that they can influence that one crazy wacko to go off the deep end and do their dirty work for them.

All it takes is one unstable person.

They have created a climate of fear and repression and hatred, and IT's ALL THEY KNOW how to do!

The nation asking them, begging them to stop with the hate and have actual discussions about reality is like asking them to suddenly become nuclear physicists...they simply do not possess enough intellectual capacity to have 'talk" shows without lies, innuendo and hate.

Plus it makes them lots of corporate $$$ so why stop now? War sells, baby, and the War's on you and me and every democrat alive

6. Bring back the Fairness Doctrine, revoke Clinton's Telecommunications Act
The media is at fault and will not change unless forced to. It will only get worse, just like any disease left untreated.
