I stole this from the Seattle Times opinion blog.. a Perry-crusher for the low information folks.
Most folks only hear the numbers from Faux news on Perry so here are some numbers Perry definitely would like to remain hidden (taken from his own legislature);

Here are a few statistics compiled by Texas’s own legislative study group from the Texas House ranking the fifty (50) states and where Texas ranks:

— Tax expenditures per capita (47th)
— Percent of population 25 and older with a high school diploma (50th)
— Percent of poor people covered by Medicaid (49th)
— Percent of population with employer-based health insurance (48th)
— Per capita spending on mental health (50th)
— Per capita spending on Medicaid (49th)
— Percent of non-elderly women with health insurance (50th)
— Percent of women receiving prenatal care in first trimester (50th)
— Average credit score (49th)
— Workers' compensation coverage (50th)
— Number of executions (1st)
— Public school enrollment (2nd)
— Percent of uninsured children (1st)
— Percent of children living in poverty (4th)
— Percent of population uninsured (1st)
— PERCENT OF POPULATION LIVING BELOW POVERTY (4TH)
— Percent of population with food insecurity (2nd)
— Overall birth rate (2nd)
— Amount of carbon dioxide emissions (1st)
— Amount of toxic chemicals released into water (1st)
— Amount of hazardous waste generated (1st)

Perry wants to repeat these same numbers in every state in America. He would make a great Idi Amin but most Americans don't want to be a banana republic ruled by a power hungry despot.

Just some facts to consider......

1. Interesting that you should mention banana republics.
It is true that Americans do not want the US to become a banana republic and do not want to be ruled by a power hungry despot, but I see the majority of Americans being ignored and I see a few power hungry despots weilding all the power.

The statistics you cite are devastating. I hope this information comes out, but some things are best left as weapons for later in the election process. This information may be good to hold onto.

5. I wonder how Texas residents can be proud of their state?
They have the most residents without a high school diploma.

They probably don't see the evidence of their crappy government because the state is so big.

6. Texas' marketing slogan used to be "it's like a whole other country"
Under Goodhair Perry, that whole other country seems to be the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

http://www.therichest.org/world/poorest-countries-in-the-world/

"Congo is also one of the last places on earth with tribes of cannibals. A Mbuti pygmy testified before the UN that their people were hunted down and eaten like animals by neighboring tribes. Eating other people is a way to survive the famines that are affecting about 67 percent of the population. Congo is also believed to be the worst place in the world for women--it has the most rapes per woman in a year. Locals believe that sleeping with a virgin girl will cure AIDS."

Then there's Zimbabwe: 87 sextillion percent inflation. In August 2008, the government removed 10 zeroes from every bank note, because they wouldn't fit. This is a country that issued a $100 trillion bill. Remember the money in Idiocracy? This is worse.

Believe it or not, Somalia is only number 5 on the list of 10 Nations Texas Wants To Be Like.
