BAGHDAD (AP) — Negotiations to keep U.S. troops in Iraq came under new strain Friday in the wake of WikiLeaks' release of a U.N. letter alleging that an Iraqi family was handcuffed and shot in the head in a 2006 raid by American forces — not accidentally killed in an airstrike.

Iraq's government said Friday it will investigate the new allegations. And some officials said that the document was reason enough for Iraq to force the American military to leave instead of signing a deal allowing troops to stay beyond a year-end departure deadline.

5. Wikileaks is simply old fashioned journalism

If we had journalism like we used to have in the 60's and 70's we wouldn't need wikileaks! I grew up with the uncensored Vietnam war on the TV nightly! It was horrifying. If we had more realistic horror on the news, and stopped all this support military butchering bullshit, we would not have a collapsing economy, out of control deficit spending, and record numbers of suicidal soldiers!

because I don't think they will be able to go just because the war is over. If that was the case they would have packed it in when Saddam was swinging and before he body was cold, that didn't happen. I and actually even see the need for troops to make sure that the Iraqis had their first election go as smoothly as possible. But, it shouldn't take the cold blooded murder of a family for us to get out or be kicked out. We should have been out long ago. The argument to go in was weak and people on both sides made their cases, but I can't see any reasonable person saying that staying indefinitely is a good thing.
