Why does the media continue to allow Perry to proclaim himself as a job creator

while Texas unemployment goes up? I have not seen anyone correct anything he says on the campaign circuit as he still talks of Texas job growth.

Texas was eliminated, but it shows unemployment rising. 6. Perry just did it again at a S.C. town meeting. He said he has created jobs in Texas.

The unemployment rate in Texas is going up, not down.

7. listened to him for a few minutes on CNN just now....god they say

everything the audience wants to hear....must have been a pro business crowd because every plan he mentioned profited businesses not individuals......the audience approved.

a whole year of this campaign drivel will be more than I can handle.....I will be reading more and watching TV less.

One reason the Texas economy weathered the recession comparatively well, besides its oil and gas resources, is that it avoided the housing bubble and subprime loan crisis. But I doubt Perry will tell you the reason for that: Texas has the strictest mortgage regulations in the country.

In terms of the unemployment rate, Texas pales in comparison to North Dakota, which had an unemployment rate of just 3.3 percent as of July. Payroll growth there in the past year was 5.2%, compared to 2.6% in Texas.
