Intriguing new details have emerged from the autopsy report on Rebecca Zahau, the woman found hanging at billionaire Jonah Shacknai’s mansion, which appear to add strength to claims by the woman's family that her bizarre death was not a suicide.

A copy of the autopsy shows that tape residue was found on the 32-year-old's legs and a t-shirt was discovered stuffed in her mouth - facts which were not disclosed when authorities gave a press conference on Friday to announce their findings.

The news comes as a respected forensic pathologist spoke out to question the corner's decision to rule the death a suicide.

Ms Zahau was found dead on July 13, hanging from a second-floor balcony at a historic mansion in suburban Coronado, California belonging to Mr Shacknai, whose son had a tragic fall two days earlier.

He has a long-standing reputation as a reliable financial supporter of Democratic causes and candidates, as well as being widely regarded in the community as an extremely generous and charitable man. He's a rare Democrat in the strongly Republican city of Coronado.

Like many of us he's had a few family relationship problems in the past, but no criminal record and no history of violence of any kind. I'm frankly disgusted by the intellectual laziness and bigotry of a few people here who have essentially accused him of murder or complicity in murder, and have ginned up a ridiculous conspiracy theory involving our fine county Sheriff's department.

If you are wealthy, you are automatically suspect in the eyes of some of us (unless you are known to be a leading Democrat like Nancy Pelosi or John Kerry.) I've deliberately held back on what I know about Mr. Shacknai because frankly I get some entertainment value from seeing people make fools of themselves on Internet forums.

The woman's name was Cindy James. The cops believed she committed suicide, even though her arms and legs were bound. No hanging, though but there was an attempted strangulation. I don't think the official finding was suicide but the police believe she killed herself.
