a. if true, this is the first time they SOUGHT a meeting before an event. Most of the time, Obama has been doing the seeking and setting up of meetings.
b. Is it true? Disinformation from one side or the other? Given the strong showings of labor and the left on Labor day, I suspect that it is true, and that Boehner and Cantilever are going in early for a preemptive strike. "THOU SHALL NOT PASS! DO NOT CROSS THIS LINE, OR ELSE. IF YOU ATTACK US, ALL YOUR BIPARTISAN DREAMS ARE GONE!"
c. Unfortunately, Obama is quite susceptible to this kind of approach, and might be swayed, to his and our detriment, if they succeed.

Surprise is one tactical advantage he shouldn't give away. Boehner and Cantor will only try to dilute the message or use it against him by releasing parts of the speech before it is given. They only want to make their rebuttal more on point by seeing the speech in advance.
