Wake Me Up When September (11) Ends.....

No matter what you tune into - the U.S. Open tennis tournament, the Discovery Channel, baseball games etc. - there's a forced, gratuitous Sept. 11 segment or tribute or strident commentary from some braindead commentator. It's enough to make you nauseous.

1. Funny--I heard that song on the radio the other day
and immediately thought the same thing. This month is going to be :banghead:

2. Yes, one of the BEST reasons for getting rid of your television.
I dumped cable in 2003 and have never missed it.

5. I gave away my Nationals (baseball) tickets for Sunday since I didn't want to sit thru
all the 911 remembrances. I can say a pray for the dead and thank the firemen/rescuers without the orgy of remembrance.

9. Not as much as, not remembering the past as not wanting to get hit over the head with it.

7. I've already warned my partner, who is flying back from New Jersey on the 11th
from a conference. I believe I would grind my teeth to the root by the end of the journey...

8. I am already sick of it
it was a terrible thing but it just goes on and on. Just some excuse for the big wigs to give a speech and the media to re-hash the whole thing over and over.

12. I'm with ya!
Sept 11, 2001 was an event that will never fade far from my memory. I can't believe it's been 10 years already and I am NOT ready to re-live it with sensationalized events and shows. I wish the TV stations would just have a blank screen with "We remember 9/11" on it and leave it be at that.
