A couple of things from the No Labels phone conference tonight via Irregular Times.

The writer says he is going to put more up about it later, but what he has already is interesting.

Remember, this is one of the groups..the other being Americans Elect..that is going to run a candidate for president against Obama.

The writer says he "made a copy of the audio of the call. It’s pretty hard to listen to, as it’s mostly vague generalities telling people that we all need to come together and send a powerful message and make solutions… and then slipping in CEO special interest agenda items every now and then. It’s an hour and a half long, so give me a second here."

At 7:30 PM, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz will take make an appearance as a spokesman for No Labels during a “conversation with America”, an event at which Schultz will take pre-selected questions and talk about what he describes as a commitment to create jobs.

Here’s the rub: In the depths of the last economic recession, Howard Schultz didn’t pitch in and create jobs. He fired 6,700 people with one stroke of his pen, eliminating their jobs forever. If Howard Schultz really believes that creating jobs is the correct response to an economic crisis, why did he destroy so many jobs last time around?

No Labels had the audacity to warn at this public relations event that, unless its pro-business agenda is implemented, “the gap between the haves and have nots is going to get wider and wider and wider.”

Hey, here’s an idea, No Labels: Why don’t you tell your corporate spokespeople like Howard Schultz to take a little bit more of their “have” and give it to the hard working “have nots”? Why didn’t anyone there tell Howard Schultz that before he lectures anyone in the government about putting personal interest aside for the good of the country, that he take half of the 21.7 million dollars he took home from Starbucks last year, and give that to the people working at Starbucks who actually brought in that money?

What hypocrisy!

Amen to that!

Bet they wished they never sent me that email today.

Then I would not have researched them, and I would have been blissfully unaware of the total absurdity of their plan to run someone against Obama because he is not bipartisan enough.

They speak of cutting corporate taxes. Of course they do. They have been having their taxes cut, and some of them are creating jobs....overseas.

It's also supported by executives from Starbucks, Nasdaq, Hasbro, J. Crew, Pepsico, and JCPenney. It's also a group taking out full page ads in USA Today, but why?
