Flash game lets players gun down Palin, Bachmann, Fox News hosts

In a new free-to-play online game that's sure to worry as many on the left as on the right, players are sent on a mission to kill "tea party zombies," Fox News anchors, Republican politicians, lobbyists and even activists, using weapons like machine guns, shotguns, crowbars and machetes.

Though entirely based tongue-in-cheek, "Tea Party Zombies Must Die" contains politically provocative imagery, like walking through the offices of Koch Industries wielding a shotgun, or attending a sparsely populated tea party rally and killing activists with a crowbar.

In between levels, the game presents quotes from journalists and activists from organizations like The New York Times, The Guardian and Greenpeace, outlining the activities of Koch Industries, the influence of Fox News and the impact of big money on American democracy.

According to the designer, this new "advergame" from viral media group Starvingeyes was not commissioned by any person or organization in particular. Starvingeyes has previously worked with companies like Red Bull, UPS, NASCAR, Motorola, Pepsi and Craftsman, among others.

39. First, it's a game

It is obviously designed to reach an audience that is not being reached through other media. Yes, video games are now mass media. It is fantasy and cartoonish enough to be distinguished from reality.

Second, although I do NOT advocate, shooting political opponents, killing MLK, JFK, and RFK, certainly solved a lot of problems for the right wing. Killing the Czar solved a lot of problems for Lenin.

Perhaps one of the best examples for NOT killing political opponents is the French Revolution.

So, the data is mixed at best. The world is an ugly, nasty place, dominated by those who would do violence. That is the unfortunate reality.

I think the game is a great way to blow off the steam that comes with being an democrat in a country that is owned by republican assholes.If it keeps one person from doing something stupid ,its worth it.You politicly correct members need to get a little more riled up if you want to stop the crazies from taking over for good.Playing by the rules will only lead to your doom.Not being able to channel frustration with reality via games or fantasies will lead to mental health problems for those who care the most deeply about democratic policy, and the lack of any real way to change the climate or mindset of the belt way press.

We have a lot of frustrations with the ridiculous real-life characters of Palin and Bachmann and Tea Partiers, but that doesn't mean that it's an appropriate responce to plaster their faces (and one topless at that, apparently x( ) onto digital avatars. This is no different than paper shooting targets with Democratic politicians added on.

It's disgusting, it's reprehensible, and I for one will not buy this product, nor any other product produced by this company.
