Lacoste Tells Norway Bomber Anders Behring Breivik To Stop Wearing Its Clothes
Who says killers can't be stylish?

Anders Behring Breivik, the gunman who killed 77 people after a shooting rampage at a youth camp and a bombing in Oslo on July 22, insists on wearing Lacoste sweaters on his trips out of prison. And Lacoste is not happy about it.

The Telegraph reported that the French company has called Breivik's love of Lacoste a PR "nightmare" and according to Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet, Lacoste execs have written to Oslo police demanding the terrorist be stopped from wearing their clothes.

Breivik has donned a bright red sweater with the signature alligator logo while driving in and out of prison. But according to Dagbladet, he also wore a black sweater by Lacoste in a photograph he used for his manifesto, "2083: A European Declaration of Independence" (which can be read in full online) and has said that wearing the luxury brand "makes it possible to act as an educated European of the conservative character."

I don't think Lacoste is seen as conservative in the US.

1. That's what they get for putting their advertising on their product.

2. I don't know about Norway, but I'm willing to bet elsewhere in the world this is a nonissue
Seriously, who pays attention to what a killer wears, much less draw conclusions about the clothing company.

Frankly, if Lacoste had just kept its mouth shut, I doubt that few, if any, people would have noticed or cared.

4. Probably the only people who give a flying fuck
Are those at Lacoste (who just like many other companies) who have a vastly overinflated sense of their "image" and place in the world. Who gives a fuck what clothes this nutjob wears? I sure don't. It never even occurred to me to even look that close at what he was wearing.

9. Lacoste is a Richy Rich wanna-be brand in the US
Seems pretty conservative to me. The adult version of Garanimals. For those with low self esteem: a highly marketed brand to hide behind.
