There are rare exceptions. But long hair emphasizes your jaw line and neck -- and those areas on our faces tend to sag a bit with age.

I suppose that people like Hillary can afford plastic surgery, but still, long hair is usually a bad bet after 50.

Part of the problem is that hair thins and changes in quality with age.

Still, Hillary is a lovely woman. And we place far too much value on how a woman looks. She wears flattering, spring colors most of the time.

Think about how terribly unhealthy some of the congressmen look: Boehner just looks sick all the time. So do some of the Democrats. They work really hard. Stress ages us very quickly.

She has always said that cosmetic surgery was not for her. She's frightened of the outcome. Hillary is a very attractive woman who looks younger and prettier in person. People tell her that all the time and it annoys her (she wonders what they must have thought before they met her).

I had a dead thyroid starting at age twelve, and have taken thyroid for decades.
I dragged my ass through college and grad school but was always exhausted. If she had a real thyroid problem, she would barely have gotten through law school.

I barely got through law school while working full time at the courthouse as a court reporter.
Took me five years.

I think she's just tired because she's worked so hard for decades.

I did not know that Hillary had thyroid disease.

You can die from a lack of thyroid. It's called a "myxedema coma". I had a stupid doctor take me OFF Armour thyroid and after five years I almost went into a coma and died. I had to get out of bed on sheer willpower and that was fading. I had the puffy face and neck that looked horrible.

doctors are good at ignoring thyroid problems. It is a massive problem with millions of mostly women affected, and they think women who are tired and fat and depressed just need antidepressants.

I wish somebody would actually come out and do a show about hypothyroidism. They don't talk about it, and when they do they only give people Synthroid which is T4 only. A lot of people do not do well on T4 only. This is also connected with adrenal exhaustion, which we all have due to unrelenting, crushing stress in our lives.

Thyroid fatigue feels like "I need to sleep a lot".
Adrenal fatigue feels like "I have hit a brick wall. I absolutely cannot deal with people any more." Basically it is commonly known as "burnout".

It is rude to suggest to someone that they should have surgery that is not required for health reasons. Every time you have an anesthetic you take a risk.

When people say something rude to me of that nature, I explain to them that I am a grandmother, and I want to look like a grandmother.

They shut their mouths pretty quickly. Most people would not want their own grandmother to have plastic surgery. A grandmother's appearance of natural aging is part of her mystical beauty in my view.
