6. You have updates on your car radio and portables on 93.3 FM
Edited on Thu Sep-08-11 11:44 PM by sfpcjock
and a few AM stations (KOLO?).

Schools mostly all cancelled tomorrow.

It's not too late to check on seniors, help them with flashlights, water, food whatever. Thanks.

A lot of stuff is off, so you are told not to go out and drive around since you could run out of gas and it is dark everywhere.

Water problems in Temecula and a couple of others. Check the radio.

5. hmm the blackout coincided with Obama's speech
and I'd joke about a Republican conspiracy to keep San Diegans in the dark about what the president plans on doing.

Might be a good idea not to tell them what's afoot.

10. Encinitas is supposed to be back on by tomorrow morning, I believe.
Conserve energy due to supply problems, and turn off your AC and TV to prevent a surge and appliance damage when power is restored.

Stay off the roads, it is dark in a lot of places and you could run out of gas. Sewage being spilled into Las Penasquitas Lagoon.

All schools are canceled for tomorrow.

12. Boil-Water Order Issued for Some Communities...
Edited on Fri Sep-09-11 12:43 AM by sfpcjock
Mayor Sanders held a media conference at 8 p.m., saying that as a precautionary measure prompted by problem with water pumps, city residents living in the communities of Otay Mesa, Scripps Ranch, La Jolla, Mount Soledad, Tierresanta and Scripps Ranch were under a mandatory boil-water order.

Water issues were also paramount at several communities that were located far from pumping stations. Residents of Fallbrook, Ramona, Valley Center, and Coronado were being urged to conserve water in whatever ways possible.

No flights out of Lindberg Field due to TSA equipment failure. Maybe no commercial flights at all, only some cargo and private planes.
