1. Except the GOP has trained average Americans.....
....to vote against their own interests. They'll just call the plan "socialist", and many people who could benefit will buy it because they are brainwashed.

Then they'll be heros for stopping the communist muslim from kenya.

Just like they did with healthcare. They conned millions of people into not wanting free universal healthcare.

5. Yes, many will buy it
But I don't think the majority will. The only reason republicans are even talking about working together on the presidents bill is that they saw the anger when they went home, at least those who had town hall meetings, and those who didn't were simply scared and they too know the people are pissed off, even republicans.

While their is, and always will be, the brain dead base who can't see the facts, many on the right "are" seeing things from a different light, especially those in states that now, after the 2010 elections, are run by republicans. Many republicans have been effected by the radical changes the right is pushing and they are not happy at all! True not all of the will vote for the president, but many will do as so many on the left did in 2010, the reason republicans won by the way, and not vote at all!

18. So true, but they have always done that.
Their church tells many what to do and who to vote for .

4. How much will the economy improve?
Not very much, from accounts as I've read.

6. They'll avoid that by passing the Republicans parts of the package
they like. Enough to say they did their part.

Dems want them to pass the package as is, and all in one piece.

That seems unlikely.

11. Win either way? How? Looks to me like America loses either way
If he gets his way Social Security and Medicare either go broke or become greatly diminished entitlements and the Republicans win (if they are in office or not) and if he doesn't get his way the Republicans will have defeated him again.

And the wars go on.

And Americans suffer without healthcare.

And every day more Americans lose their jobs and their homes.

And every day the infrastructure crumbles a bit more.

And every day the skies become more dangerous for travel.

And every day we add more and more carbon to the atmosphere.

and ....

were talking about that during the speech, the other day. She used to be Chief of Staff for a very interesting Democrat(You may know her, KPete), and is very politically savvy. We booth agreed that Obama was laying quite the little honeypot for the 'pukes.

15. False premise, the plan has a significant chance of making matters worse if passed
and an even greater chance of being passed in part, the parts that create the negative gravity.

The fundamental principles are not sound.

16. My thought's exactly...
It's more than possible that if the repukes vote for this, and the economy doesn't improve, the exact same plan will be "The Bipartisan Plan" instead of "The Obama Plan" going into the 2012.

17. So sure are you it will improve economy?!
I doubt it will.
Last trillion dollar 'stimulus' resulted in worse numbers.
