Definitely wondering how his speech and the jobs bill has had an affect on us.

3. Awesome! Also, as a reference, here is a previous poll done last month.

With that and this, I guess we'll be able to see if and how it's changed.

4. The question's a little too simplistic.
I approve of some things he's done and not so much of others.

12. This is no more simplistic than your vote has to be in an election.
This candidate/that candidate. Of course, you will never approve 100% of any one of them.

21. Yes, but voting and taking part in a DU poll are two different things.
I can't say on a discussion board that I wholeheartedly approve of Obama's presidency. I'm voting for him anyway.

30. That's anoter good point: Not approving of him doesn't necessarily mean you won't vote for him

7. I don't approve of this poll.
It should have more shades of grey like "strongly approve", "approve", "neutral", "disapprove", "strongly disapprove". Otherwise there is no way to vote what I feel: On some things pretty good, on some things not so good, overall, about neutral.

8. Overall stands for "at the end of the day", all things considered" etc.
I don't see anything wrong with the poll because of that. I weighed the good v. the bad... and came up with my overall answer. It was simple. :)

11. After this dies I'll try to make a better one, if nobody else beats me to it.
I kinda wannna do a simple yes or no, that way if you feel neutral, you can say "no." as in "I do not approve of the job Obama is doing." Kinda wanna use the question and the data to be able to compare with the media polls that are done.

14. It's a fine poll. No matter how nuanced you make it, it will always not
include what someone wants. "Overall" handled the issue quite well.

16. Disapprove.
I am very unhappy with his performance as President, and even unhappier with his de facto leadership of the Democratic Party.

I might not be so pissed about it because what I disapprove wouldn't be on my dime, work, and votes.

18. and the reason I voted "approve" is
because the shitwads on the other side of the aisle have been sticking it to him and us since day one.

Just imagine what the world would look like if each day you could turn on the news and hear things like, "the president and congress today decided that

providing healthcare for everyone would be a great money saving idea. They are now working on measures to implement it and to also cut back on the wars

that have been draining our financial resourses the past 20 years".

26. Except the Gallup polling groups is ~40% Republicans...
DU's results should be closer to the Gallup polling of Democrats only, not the nation as a whole.

31. Knowing how the system works I have to say approve
I think a lot of people are just used to seeing the last administration doing whatever they wanted to do in record time. "Politics as usual" is not a phrase invented in the last few years.
