I am choosing to "Live Free or Die", to not rest on the moment...
to not look back, but try to keep moving forward. I don't want to remember where I was on that day. It was horrific enough and I don't want to relive it. I don't want to tune into jingoistic B.S., and songs, and "where are they nows?". I have made the decision that, if the channel is dedicated to "remembering" (I read this as trying to boost ratings) I'm not watching it. I almost want to show up 10 minutes late to "Fox and Hound" tomorrow for the Lions game...all in order to skip any remembering that happens pre-game. I am all for learning from the past so that history does not repeat itself. I am not for turning a national tragedy into a gawker fest. It was horrific enough. I guess that makes me a bad person but I don't want to watch plane hitting building video, killing thousands of my countrymen, as entertainment. Because it all just seems like so much entertainment for some.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Go Pack Go...and Lions sort of (for BabyG)

1. For me
It comes across as a "celebration" of a tragedy, no one who was alive at that time will ever be able to forget what happened that day, no one who was born after that date will be allowed to forget either as they will be subjected to the idiotic regulations and stomping on our rights that has occurred since that day. We are reminded every time we attempt to fly someplace, every time we renew our drivers licenses, revery time we read or hear of the stupidity of forcing an 80 year old wheelchair confined being almost strip searched at an airport.

Because of these travesties I am reminded on almost a daily basis what happened that day...

I do not need these reminders I will never forget without a constant reminder. But because of our governments knee-jerk reaction to this event and their asinine enforcement of unconstitutional laws and regulations the terrorists won with one attack.

3. You and me both, sister.
I'm having my daughter, her SO, and their two dogs over and I'm cooking a big meal for everyone and doing the family thing. We're watching football, on DVR so we can skip all the "ugh," and we we may take the dogs to the lake at some point. It should be perfect "quality" family day.

Full speed ahead to a better tomorrow for me, and mine.

I hope you and yours have a great day, too. :)

6. I hope you have an awesome time.
BabyG and I are going to spend it watching the Lions kick butt (he hopes anyway). :) I hope we both get some rain here sometime soon.
