Opinions of the 9/11 memorial
In my opinion it is underwhelming. Maybe you have to be there to experience it first hand?

I am sure others will disagree.

1. It is a monument to energy dependence and its consequences
They are about 50 feet from the upper level to the bottom. The flow is about 50,000 gallons per minute.

I haven't yet figured out how many barrels of oil equivalent it takes to run them for a year, but it is a lot. In the New York area it is probably a mix of coal, nuclear and natural gas generation, but even so, the carbon footprint is substantial.

And are the commuters who use the PATH trains, bridges and tunnels of the Port Authority paying for running it?

It also has heaters for operation during the winter.

Talk about not kicking our energy dependency habit!

3. It looks like a stainless steel toilet you find at a park
or rest stop. Just giant size.

4. I really like it. Looks great at night too. I thought they should do something
with the holes in the ground. I suggested a quarry garden. But this is great.
