Favorite Foolish Fantasies -(NRA credo) - 'toon

An illustration of our wide held belief that we can fight fire(arms) with fire(arms).

2. fantasy my ass
More like anti-gun ignorance. Tell that to Dave Sanders, the teacher who was killed at Columbine while the Jefferson County police department stood outside drinking coffee and eating donuts for 2 1/2 hours! Tell that to Professor G. V. Loganathan who was killed at the Virgina Tech shooting when Cho walked into the classroom and killed the professor and then proceeded to calmly shoot 13 other students in the classroom...9 of whom were killed.

Maybe THEY would have liked to have had a handgun in their backpack?

3. I maintain:
If my home is invaded, and I come down the stairs with a gun, I am more likely to be shot dead than if I come down with a burning candle in my hand.

But then that's just me.
An Average democratic peace loving American, an average citizen, guns are not on my mind, and if I had to defend myself with one I would not be capable of doing it well. Nor do I want to change that picture.

A defense scenario of guns coming out of back packs to take charge of an unexpected and probably planned and pre-meditated attack is lunacy.

What you are describing is sad and horrible and different.
Lack of vigilance and mistakes are different from hyper vigilance and a melee of gun fire.

6. Tell that to Dr. Petit
when his wife and two daughters were raped, tortured, and burned alive. I bet they would have preferred a handgun to a "burning candle".

The only "lunacy" being exhibited is the proclivity of some to aspire to be a doormat so people can walk all over them.

4. Yes. Because that's what you need to prevent school shootings--more guns in the school.
Brilliant.

5. Yes and those
"gun free zone" signs are so brilliant....and effective.
