If 9-11 Had Happened When a Democrat Was President, Would the Republicans Have Impeached Him or Her?
Source: Buzzflash

With the 10-year anniversary of September 11 approaching, I have been listening to the increased discussions about how the people of America came together and were so unified in the aftermath of this horrific tragedy and how so many people now wish that our country could get back to how we were back then...when political party didn't matter. But I can't help but ask myself...didn't political party matter?

Did which party was in control of the White House actually play a part in how 'unified' we were back then? I have to wonder how things might have played differently if 9/11 had happened on a Democratic president's watch.

Whether our 'fair and balanced' mainstream media wants to admit it publicly or not, the Republicans have taken the Nobel "Putz" Prize quite a bit in recent years when it comes to political divisiveness and obstruction in this country.

Think back to the weeks immediately following 9/11. Couldn't you just hear the likes of Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter had this happened on Bill Clinton's or Barack Obama's watch? In the midst of the grieving, wouldn't you just have loved to listen to all the public threats of Congressional hearings about "what did the White House know" that would have been demanded by the Jim DeMint's and Michele Bachmann's of the world?

2. They sure would have spent more then the $14 million they spent on the 9/11 Whitewash Commission...
...that's for damned sure...plus it would have been 24/7 Dem-bashing by the M$M until he resigned or "chose" not to run again...

6. Note that the 14 Million on the 9/11 Whitewash didn't get much of a mention this weekend.
The August 6 PDB will always color the events of 9/11/01 -- and yet the media choses to focus on 9/11 through the black/white Neo-Con lense.

4. I'm confused today
I just read a facebook thread of comments made by extremely progressive church people who are commenting on how they feel differently about George W. Bush today after watching the 9/11 coverage -- they now see his "humanity" and feel compassion towards him. One wrote that she warmed to him yesterday after watching the classroom scene again -- he looked so "alone."

Ick. Just ick.

5. Not a chance, given the tendency of populations to gather around
even bad leaders (see: W) when any national tragedy strikes, especially an attack against that nation.

A Democratic president would have found himself with Stupid's unearned >90% approval rate and Congress wouldn't have dared to start impeachment proceedings.

9/11 was a gift to Stupid and his gang of criminals and traitors because it consolidated their very shaky power which was based on winning a 5-4 election and denied the will of the people.

7. Well we might have the truth
About 9/11 if a Dem was President. And if what happened happened the same way, I would want them in jail too.

8. In a hot nanosecond..
The rubble would still have been smoking at ground zero and Gore would have been impeached..

President Lieberman would then have proceeded to invade Iraq.

So really history wouldn't have been all that different. :)

9. If the Supreme Court hadn't appointed Bush...
...Al Gore would have been President. No one can say what would have happened, but I feel these attacks would have been stopped. I believe a lot of things would be different right now. I really think that Al Gore would have made a difference in this country. That's why he was not allowed to take the office. I guess it's better than assassination.

12. It most likely would NOT have happened.
Why? Because the out going Clinton Administration knew about the coming attack and warned the incoming bu$h administration of it with a two and a half inch thick report. Cheney shelved it.

And also Richard Bruce Cheney would not have been in a position to be in a White House bunker directing an exercise that mirrored the terrorist attack what was actually happening. What are the odds?

Without Cheney, the normal chain of command would have been in place and our air defenses would have been operational.
And we would still have WTC1, WTC2 and WTC7 and the Republicans would have nothing to celebrate every 9/11. No Iraq war, No Afghanistan war and over a million people would still be alive.

14. They would have been looking for a reason too
So I agree that the likes of Hannity, etc. would be asking what did the WH know. 911 Truther theories would not be considered bizarre. Rush would have been concentrating on the things that cause the theories and making them legit, for example, WTC 7 collapse being so strange.
