Slaughter these. Newness in fact Master quae are her.

Can you enlighten me? I love Latin (must be those 12 years at Catholic school, nine of them pre-Vatican II!)

Thanks!

17. I also took French in High School - for one abysmal year!
And yes, it was CATHOLIC school (Convent of the Sacred Heart!)

We had our choice, Latin or French. Since I could recite the Mass in Latin from memory, I opted for French, but I sucked. :(

20. My only experience with Catholic School is the experience my Dad related
He attended a Catholic Military School in the 30s and 40s. Some of the stories give ME nightmares.

Although, my favorite memory, from when I was about 10 or 11, is when he first told me of the pregnant nuns being in their own wing. In my child-like innocence, I asked, "Who got them pregnant?" He retorted, "Well it certainly wasn't the other nuns."

16. Kill them all. For the Lord knows them that are His.
Papal Legate Arnaul Amalric during the Albigensian Crusade. He was sent by Pope Innocent III to convert the heretics.

The modern version is "Kill them all and let God sort them out."

21. I'd like to say it was this really horrifying past life ...
... but it was a friend who attended Catholic School that told me of this.

The religion never took with him, but he read a lot about the Crusades just for fun.

11. My parents had money, but they would have been hit HARD
if it came out of their pockets for an extended period such as that.

I'm thinking (now that I'm actually thinking about it) that it's possible money could have been raised by those who were in favor of continued life support (like almost all Republicans). We know that they always seem to come up with lots of $$$.

I'm going to to see what I can find out because now I'm curious whether or not this is another example of The Christian Right! hypocrisy.

14. But they're all Christians (in name) yet have no problem letting
a non-insured human being die.

Not a slam on Christians, just a slam on the RW Christians who don't walk the talk but belong to the "club".

She was on Medicaid - I posted about it below.

9. I posted the same sentiment last week to a resounding thud.
It's the audience that scares me to death.
I'm not going to run into Rick Perry or Michelle Bachman at the local grocery mega-mart or liquor store.
But the audience?
That's a different story.

The audience is the people we work with, live next door to, do business with, cash our checks and fix our cars.
They may seem nice and shit some are nice BUT...

And THAT is what scares me.

13. Terri Schiavo was a Medicaid recipient:
Edited on Tue Sep-13-11 12:57 AM by gateley
/snip
As Republican leaders in Congress move to trim billions of dollars from the Medicaid health program, they are simultaneously intervening to save the life of possibly the highest-profile Medicaid patient: Terri Schiavo.

The Schiavo case may put a human face on the problem of rising medical costs, both at the state and federal levels. In Florida, where Gov. Jeb Bush (R) is pushing a dramatic restructuring of the Medicaid program, the cost of Schiavo's care has become political fodder. In Washington, where a fight over Medicaid spending threatens to scuttle the 2006 budget plan, the role of the program in preserving Schiavo's life is beginning to receive attention. /snip

(This is from a 2005 WaPo piece!

EDIT: I put Medicare in my subject line, meant to say Medicaid.
