Lots of employers DON’T OFFER HEALTH INSURANCE to their employees at any price.

For example, I work for a state agency. Think all state employees have all these terrific benefits? Wrong!!! At least 50% of the employees here are part-time, no benefits. That means, NO EMPLOYER PROVIDED HEALTH INSURANCE. I’m sure there are plenty of other working people out there in the same boat.

3. I've seen many private businesses

hire 2 part timers instead of one full timer for exactly this reason. Part time = no benefits.

Ignorant asshole. They are indeed ignorant. If they would simply find the facts they would quickly see that government employees at every level from paid community employees through city, county, state, and up to Federal Employees are paid less than their commercial counterparts for the same or similar work. It is also the case that they receive similar or less valuable benefits than are offered by the private sector for similar working circumstance too. So that is why I call them ignorant. The numbers are out there, all they had to do was look first.

And why do I call them assholes? For not looking. For accepting all the bullshit without shoveling at least a bit of it aside to see where it came from.
