The Tea Party are the mob
Cheering on death and abandoning those in need of help.

They would be the descendants of those who chanted for the death of Jesus, and disgusted even Pontius Pilot. They would be the ones who eagerly went to the stadium to see the carnage.

They are the mob. I find myself wondering when it became fashionable to be a cold hearted stingy mizerly bastard? When did that become a good thing?

2. They are like the mob depicted in this old drawing...

...but without the social graces.

3. The only reason they have the influence they have is because
of the media's help.

4. wondering when it became fashionable to be a cold hearted stingy miserly bastard?
I can't answer that because I can't quote how long Rush Limbaugh and his ilk, then Fox News, have been pounding at people over the airwaves.

6. And like most mobs, they are the creation of a select few who look
to gain by controlling the mob.

The mob is, and always has been, a Frankenstein's monster. There is no controlling it once it is loosed.

7. They used to be called a "lynch mob."
That they cheer executions and call for the death of the uninsured proves that they have changed only their brand, not their warped beliefs and psyches, in the last 60 years. But now the media gives people like this credibility. Not so much back in the day.
