missoni at target = one day mostly sold out
I was wondering if Missoni made these products in Italy or if they did some slave labor third world thing for the target collection. Anyone know?

2. I think China

And this is why I keep ignoring all of these 'Linked In' requests from India. The last two tried to 'sell' me Customer Support in India. Then when I told them I was no longer involved Product Management for Major Wireless Carrier in the U.S. whose customer support teams are ONLY in the U.S. . . . instead I work in Import/Export Control - they tried to sell me those services or tell me about their sister who sells those services - or cousin - or uncle or . . .

Sorry to go off topic - but stopping this crap starts with those of us who are Decision Makers. We have the power to get in front of leadership and argue for American Made, Supported, Managed, and Controlled. The marketing and PR people at Target could punch Wally World in the nose if they could get their purchasing team to go out and actively look for everything and everything that's made in America. I see a campaign similiar to Wegman's Grocery Store's "XYZ percent of our produce this week is locally grown and/or organic". Only for Target it could be 63% of products on our shelves this week were made in America.

I don't understand why Marketing people aren't using the Local / American / Green as a Result 'dog whistle'. Then again, no one is buying much of anything these days so maybe they've (the Marcomm/PR folks) just given up?

3. italy off shores too.
maybe the expensive prete porte is made in italy -- but if that's the case it's probably because the equipment is very specific and moving it is unnecessary.

i love missoni -- love it -- but i'd rather save up and buy the real thing -- than their own off brand target thing.

besides -- i won't shop target.

9. They're huge union-busters as well.
Anyone who thinks they're helping by shopping at Target instead of Wal-Mart is wrong.

10. Well, I'm not much of a spender on a good day, so they wouldn't see me, anyway.
I'm just a bit, oh, surprised, I guess.

11. Today, it's Missoni at ebay.
Edited on Wed Sep-14-11 08:20 AM by MineralMan
Tons of that stuff bought yesterday is on ebay this morning. That's where it went. Target underpriced it and the ebay sellers bought all of it and now it'll sell for more. Very astute on the ebay sellers' parts.

Check it out. Over 29000 Missoni items:
