Lastest Meme On Obama "Is he Depressed"
Wouldn't you be? Barack Obama is at the nadir of his political popularity and effectiveness. He has been maneuvered into an economic corner of 9%-plus unemployment by a relentlessly nihilistic Congress. His achievements—killing bin Laden, saving the auto industry at negligible cost—are written off as flukes. Plus all this 9/11 anniversary stuff! We hear the New York Times is looking into whether it's all starting to get to him—like, clinically.
We're told by a source inside the Times that the paper is preparing a story arguing that Obama no longer finds joy in the political back-and-forth, has seemed increasingly listless to associates, and is generally exhibiting the litany of signs that late-night cable commercials will tell you add up to depression. Or maybe Low T.

Either way, the investigation was described to us as taking seriously the notion that Obama may be suffering from a depressive episode. Of course, absent a telltale Wellbutrin prescription or testimony from the man himself, it's really impossible to achieve a reliable diagnosis. And a story like "Obama Appears to Suffer From Depression" can be easily downgraded to "Political Travails Begin to Take Personal Toll on Obama." So the story in question, if it ever comes out, may not end up supporting the depression thesis. But rest assured: There are people at the Times who, based on the paper's reporting, believe Obama is depressed—the kind of depression where, if he weren't the president of the United States, he wouldn't be getting out of bed in the morning.

19. you want to know why here?
do you come here often? You are not in a Obama friendly website...this is one of the most anti Obama websites out there...these types of posts are seen here everyday.

We are dealing with a bunch of people here who are vicitims of repub obstruction. Repub plan:

Obstruct = no progress and things get worse in many ways = Obama's base blames Obama.

23. You seem to have a damned low view of this website and its members.
Your insinuation that people who are unhappy about Obama's unnecessary conecssions to the Republicans are somehow part of the Republican base is fucking nasty and disgusting.

By that logic at least 69 House Democrats (including my House Rep., Peter DeFazio) who demanded that Obama leave Social Security and Medicare "off the table" (and who were roundly ignored) are somehow part of the Republican agenda.

Fuck that disgusting innuendo.

Edited on Wed Sep-14-11 03:08 PM by my2sense
There are people here both for and against Obama. I posted this to expose us to the absolute BS being pushed by the other side. "Know thine enemy". If you can't tell the different I suggest you move along.

I happen to be a supporter of Obama and have been for quite awhile.

If your argument that this is not an Obama friendly website, then you are just stoking the fires. A lot of people will latch onto anything negative they can find.

And yes, I've been a member here since 2001.

posted here that it is condoned? Again, if you don't like or are offended by an OP why don't you move along. This is simply another way in which the right is attempting to paint him as defective in some way.

22. How is that 'speaking for you'?
That is two people saying that, and neither is the OP, to whom that post is addressed. The ego on display in seeing the word 'we' as indicating you yourself are being 'spoken for' is delusional.
We live in this house. We just ate lunch. We does not instantly mean 'all of us' and anyone out of grade school knows that.
It just looks so silly.

he has alot to be happy about (www.whatthefuckhasobamadonesofar.com). He looks to me ready to go and fight for another 4 years (hopefully with a cooperative congress that wants to help improve the country, and not one that wants to obstruct and get people to think Obama is ineffective).

30. Pres. Obama has no time to be
depressed. What depresses me is the pundits and "newspeople" who try to tell me he is. He is on the go all the time and from now on he will be even moreso. We have a most unique man in the White House. He came on the scene when we most needed him. After the Bush years I thought we would never see a decent president. No, he doesn't do exactly what we want done nor does he do right now! But he has my vote for re-election. Those who do not vote for him will get a Republican. I have not lost faith in our President. His heart is with this country and he has one hell of a job especially with the entire Republican party bad-mouthing him and making up lies about him, not to mention others. Flame me if you want to. I have tough skin.

35. Bullshit. The efforts to tear down this Presidency are never-ending.
Let me paraphrase: 'We have no actual proof, so we're just pulling this out of our ass. I mean, how could he possibly NOT be depressed, because he MUST be, just because!"

Idiotic.

I'm guessing these fools don't see him on the road, like he was in OH yesterday and in NC today. Or they just pretend it doesn't happen.

40. So what? My concern is: is he getting treated for it?
Winston Churchill had the kind of depression that kept him in bed, even though it was World War 2 and he was Prime Minister of the UK (he was bipolar btw). FDR - we know about his polio but he showed some signs of clinical depression. Abraham Lincoln... diagnosed later as depressed.

Being clinically depressed doesn't mean you are not fit to be President.
