A new book about tea party darling Sarah Palin has a salacious revelation about her sex life involving a well-known Miami sports star.

According to The National Enquirer, which obtained an advance copy of a book about Palin by investigative writer Joe McGinniss — Palin and former Miami Heat player Glen Rice had a one-night tryst back in 1987.

At the time, the former Alaska governor, now 47, was single, just out of college and working as a sports reporter at Anchorage TV station KTUU.

Rice, 44, who lives in Coral Gables, was a promising junior basketball player at the University of Michigan.

Their encounter occurred while Rice was in Anchorage attending a basketball tournament and Palin apparently covered the event.

Quoting from the book, the tabloid said that at the time, the 23-year-old Palin had a “fetish” about black men.

Rice was contacted by McGinniss and the former Heat confirmed the one-night stand with the woman who became famous as Republican vice presidential candidate, the tabloid said.

He could not be reached for comment on Wednesday, as the story spread on the Internet and on sports talk radio shows.

She allegedly had a tryst with basketball star Glen Rice in her younger sister Molly's University of Alaska dorm room, while she was dating Todd and just nine months before the couple were married. A friend said Mrs Palin spent the night with the basketball star but could not confirm whether they had sex, according to the National Enquirer. 'I remember Sarah feeling pretty good that she'd been with a black basketball star,' a source told the magazine.

The athlete is said to have confirmed the night of passion in Mr McGinniss's book.

Personally, I don't care who she planks, but when she comes off as "holier than thou," then I am disgusted by her hypocrisy.

Isn't this "Ms. Abstinence-Only Education?" Okay, so she slept around, but when she is ordained the spokesperson for this "religion," I have to ask, "When did abstinence-only education become her raison d'etre?" When and why did she "convert?" I'd have a lot more respect for her if she had come out initially and stated, "After a life of free sex and some soul searching, I must confess I now support 'abstinence-only education.'" She could state reasons for her new beliefs.

And this raises the question, "If she engaged in one-night stands, she must have been on birth control because 'abstinence-only' was definitely out of the picture," unless she wanted to get pregnant. So when and why did she change her views on birth control?
