Perry Explains His Poor Performance in College
http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/09/14/perry-explains-his-poor-performance-in-college/?nl=us&emc=politicsemailema4

LYNCHBURG, Va. — As a child, Gov. Rick Perry of Texas was dead-set on being a veterinarian. “That was my heart’s content. It’s what I always wanted to do,” he said.

Then came a day of reckoning, during the second semester of his sophomore year at Texas A&M University, when he went to see the dean of the veterinary school. His advice: switch to an easier major.

“He said, `Son, I’m looking at your transcript,’” Mr. Perry said. “‘You want to be an animal science major.’”

Mr. Perry told the anecdote here Wednesday morning to students at Liberty University in a speech that seemed to go to great lengths to explain and rationalize his poor academic performance in college, something that has already been an issue in the race for the G.O.P. presidential nomination.

(The implications here are endless)

2. His "heart's content"?!
Is that a Texas thing? (most folks say "heart's desire") Or is he just a colossal :dunce: ?

It may be time to break out all the old Aggie jokes: "The average Texas family has 2.1 children. The .1s all go to A&M.", etc.

6. No, he misspoke. What he meant to say was
"I just wanted to bone farm animals to my heart's content."
