http://www.startribune.com/local/129880783.html

"Amy Senser, the wife of former Minnesota Viking Joe Senser, was charged Thursday in the hit-and-run death of a motorist who pulled onto a dark Minneapolis interstate ramp last month to put gasoline in his car.

The charge against Amy Senser, 45, of Edina, is criminal-vehicular operation, a felony."

1. Good.
Wasn't there talk that they weren't even going to charge her?

2. Some people were worried about that.
They took a long time to decide on charges. In the meantime, the privileged white lady who killed a Thai chef then ran away is at home eating bon-bons. I've been incensed about this since it happened. Had the situation been reversed, it would be a no-bail jail thing.

The reaction would have been quite different in many other circumstances. That's certain.

4. I thought the same thing.
If it had been him killing her, he'd have been arrested tout suite.

5. I don't think there's any question about it.
Sports star's wife? No way. Given where she was at the time, in relationship to where she lives, and given the hour, I suspect she had been drinking. No way to know, though, since she didn't 'fess up for several days. This whole case smells.

What I think is going to happen is that she will turn herself in, make bail, and next year sometime will be sentenced to probation only. All of those things would be very different if the situation were reversed. Unspoken racism and classism going on here. It's disgusting.
