3. Well, that was quick and easy. Also, please consider "tipping" ActBlue.
Half way down on the right side of the contribution page there is a panel in which you can "tip" the web-site sponsors, ActBlue, who they describe as their job as doing the computer stuff for democrats so that the candidates can do the campaign stuff, the tip apparently pays for the website.

Oh, and if you read this, why not bounce it back to the top. If there is any Democrat in the country worth supporting, this is the one.

45. No shit that is Teddy's seat. At some point I'm just gonna want to screw the repub base and get paid
You ever notice how easy it is for a black republican to get airtime. I'm sure at least a few of them know it is bullshit and are just cashing the check. If the country really is fully screwed is their anything wrong with turning coats and getting on the lifeboat?

Alas I fear that it is not for me but perhaps if they win I can sell something similar to the judgement day pet service.

29. Thank you so much, I feel it is my duty to help where I can since I have a good job, excellent
benefits, a fully vested retirement fund and food on the table everyday. Anyone who has these things should feel honored to be able to help others. We take our tax cut bonuses (that we don't need), and donate those funds to food banks and animal shelters down where they need it most in Palm Springs California where we are fortunate enough to still have our second home. It makes me sick to see what the Republicans have done to this country.....their cheering of death.......lack of compassion and lack of sanity. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I didn't help out in some way. I was a poor kid, many nights I went to bed hungry and I know what that feels like. The more Democrats we can get into national and state political office, judgeships, city councils, school boards et al., the better off this country will be. It's the only way to turn this country around and stop the corporate Republicans other than some kind of future revolt. When you are better off financially than the majority who you know are suffering, and you choose to do nothing, then what has this country become and who have we become as a people? I'm fortunate, I lucked out in my adult life, but I cannot forget where I came from. Could I drive a more expensive car......yes, but I'd rather see someone have food to eat. Could I have fancy jewelry.....sure, but I'd rather see animals in shelters not put to death, but have time to be adopted out. I have everything I need, but others have little to nothing and that is not ok with me. This year, just as we do every year, we will collect money at work to make sure families in need have at least food to eat and around the holidays, that children who would not get a toy, get something to let them know they are loved and that someone cares. Most people seem to have "self as self," down pretty well.....I work hard to remind people in my life, to think about "self as others," "self as community," and "self as nation and world." I'm proud to be a loving and caring human being, as unlike the uncaring, hateful, bigoted and death chanting Republicans/Teabaggers as can be.......and that's something to be proud of indeed. Love is more powerful than hate, I choose love.
Lou

47. What a wonderful complement, thank you mmonk. I am a work in progress lol. I work each day, to
first and foremost, check myself for who I am being in this life. It's very important to me that I give the best "me" I can to those who I come into contact with each day. The most valuable transformations (or changes) we can make in life, I have learned, are the transformations we make within ourselves. While many of us are busy trying to change others, to make them what we want them to be, or force them to behave the way we want them to behave, I have found, that by monitoring who I am being in each situation in life, is far more valuable and productive for me and those around me. This has not been an easy road to travel at times, as it requires one to live in reality rather than "story" or fantasy. Being present in life to what "is," rather than creating a story about what "is" and living into that rather than what is real. Fortunately, many of us "humans being," have learned things in life, like math, science, technology etc., that we need to become employed and make a living, but unfortunately, many of us never learned about "being human." Imagine a technology for living life (being human), relating to others, having integrity, being truthful, and considering the feelings of others, rather than just our own. I am not always right and others are not always wrong. Others do not make me feel a certain way, I make me feel a certain way, or my "story" about a given situation (real or created in my mind), makes me feel a certain way. So the most important thing for me, and it has made me a decent human being, is asking myself consistently in my head, who am I being in life, who am I being in this moment? Am I a manipulating or gossiping? Am I overreacting, placing blame on others or making excuses for my own mistakes, failings or shortcomings? Some people feel superior to others or have unreasonable expectations, they might harbor resentments or internalize upsets that eventually come out in behavior that adversely effects or impacts those around them. This consistent monitoring of ones self, is something most have not learned, but rather, many have learned to "monitor" others, blame others, and to make others wrong without giving a second thought to their own behavior. Anyway, I really appreciated your beautiful comment. Who I have become in life today, has been accomplished through learning more about myself and making adjustments to who I am being in life from day to day and from moment to moment. I have always been a "good" person, but each day I strive to become a better human being. I want to give the best "me" I can to myself and others. Do I have bad days? Sure, I'm human and always go back to doing what I know best first, even if it doesn't work, but I have learned how to "get off it" so to speak, stop the stories in my head, and be present to what is "real" rather than reacting to my "story" which can make a real upset in life, even worse. I just had to train myself to do one thing, and I repeat it in my head (especially when there are "real" stresses)I am dealing with each day, who am I being? By the way, this won't always work lol.....sometimes you don't want to "get off it," and in that case, you might have to deal with the problems or additional upsets you might have helped fester around you. One simple question, who am I being? All the best.
Your friend,
Lou
