Republicans in Congress have consistently opposed the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) for protecting workers’ rights. After the NLRB filed a complaint in April against aerospace giant Boeing for establishing a production line for its 787 Dreamliner in South Carolina – a move seen as retaliation against its unionized workers in Washington state – GOP lawmakers went after the NLRB.

Today, in the House, they voted overwhelmingly to pass a bill barring the NLRB from ordering a company to close, relocate or transfer employment – even if the company is found to be in violation of federal labor laws. AFSCME Pres. Gerald W. McEntee says the legislation, “gives companies a get out of jail free card and makes them less accountable for firing workers and shipping jobs overseas.” Read his entire statement here. How dare the National LABOR Relations Board actually.....gasp....does its job! :eyes: Well, I guess it's something that after 8 years of Bushco, Republicans aren't used to having happen. At least it ain't going anywhere in the Senate and/or WH. It's good to have a "Senate to nowhere" once in a while.

2. I suspect this legislation is an overreaction to the NRLB's Boeing complaint...

However, IMO, the NRLB went too far, when it called for the closing of Boeing's SC facility.

4. If you actually read the complaint the NLRB made the right decision

These employees have been abused my the management for years. It was institutional.

Boeing deserved to lose the plant.
