3. They reject the idea that we're all one, but embrace the idea that we're
separate from each other.

Both ideas are true, of course. They just can't deal with more than one.

for their gunshot wounds if they have lots of money.

Yeah, that's it.

6. Gun ownership is in the US Constitution.
So like it or not, it is a right that the government can't take away.

18. I'm for strict gun regulation ...
But you need to learn to read the Constitution and recognize that the Constitution does not GIVE rights, so much as it describes those rights which the government can not abridge.

Take your logic and apply it to gay marriage. Since gay marriage is not explicitly referenced (like your mythical bubba), then Gay marriage isn't a right under your logic.

15. So is "...promote the general welfare.."....
I prefer to stretch that particular part of the Constitution, rather than the "bearing arms" part.

What could be more fundamental to the general welfare than health?

20. I agree ...
"General Welfare" should include Heath care.

That fact does not refute my point.

btw ... I am anti-gun. Don't own one, never will. Think that the rules for ownership should be much tighter.

When Scalia speaks of "strict construction" and that you have to read the Constitution as written and not bring in current day concerns (which he did to claim EO for women in not in the Constitution), I happily point out that, if we read the 2nd amendment as it was written with a mindset of the times, then individuals can own muskets and single shot pistols.

Misunderstandings of the Constitution are bad when the right does it, and when folks on DU do it.

7. A liberal is someone who claims health care IS a fundamental right,
then works against a robust public option.
