12% Approval
That is what CBS is reporting as Congress' approval rate. That is the lowest such rating in the history of tracking Congress' approval rate. Nice job, Boner! Waytago, Leader Dweeb. Schweet, Turtle Face. ^5s all around for youze guys. Hahahahahaha

>snip<
Dissatisfaction with Congress cuts across party lines. Republicans, Democrats, and independents all overwhelmingly disapprove of the job Congress is doing.

Though most Americans disapprove of both parties in Congress, they disapprove of Republicans more. Seventy-two percent of Americans disapprove of the job Republicans in Congress are doing, compared to 63 percent who disapprove of the Democrats in Congress.

Among Democrats, more approve than disapprove of the job Democrats in Congress are doing. That is reversed for Republicans - more of them disapprove than approve of the job members of their own party are doing in Congress. Independents disapprove of both parties in Congress.

The citrus mambo was the frankie wanker. Ledo's was the giveaway.

7. This is the Republican strategy and it's working!
They do everything possible to create a dysfunctional Congress which makes poll ratings go down. They then campaign against the "gubmint" which voters view negatively telling them we need less "gubmint." They increase their power in Congress and hold legislation hostage for tax cuts for the rich and no regulation for corporations which gets them more campaign donations. Works like a charm!

9. Yep, quite so
The MIC folks who actually control things will soon be able to run a credible campaign to save money by doing away with annoying obsolete institutions like Congress. Since everyone hates Congress, I'm sure they'll get bipartisan support.

17. You nailed it. Additionally they are trying to drive up voter apathy.
The more 'normal" people stay home, the more the teabaggers and fundies will come out. This is how Republicans win elections.

5. Just what I was going to post..
Yes, Republicans bear a lot of blame, that doesn't imply that Democrats in Congress are blameless.

18. Republicans 19% approval, Dems 28% approval
Neither number is good, Republican is worse, as it should be.

10. People should realize the democrats hold the majority in the senate.
Edited on Fri Sep-16-11 08:17 AM by mucifer
I know about the filibusters. But, we have the presidency and the majority in the senate. It's a fact. It doesn't look good for repubs or dems.

I believe this is a sign that there will be low voter turnout which would be just awful for us.

16. The House generally suffers most of the blame.
The Speaker of the House represents the majority party in the House. This position has traditionally been a fairly high profile position particularly since it is 3rd in the line of secession. It is a powerful position but it comes with responsibility and a fair share of the blame.

The Dems may lose a couple seats in the Senate, it's definite possibility but I am willing to bet that the Republicans will lose BIG in the House. The majority may not change hands but the election will leave quite a few Republicans sweating.

13. This is not atypical that congress is so low, but interestingly
if polled about their own person in congress there is a dramatic difference. This is why people keep getting re-elected even in poor numbers overall. Everyone thinks it is everyone elses' congresscritter.
