Repug policies to not help anybody below the 1/2 wealthiest Americans. Yet, the millions of tea party fools and repub morons support policies that are hurting them in the end.

I wonder how many of the tea partiers in the townhall who wanted an uninsured person to die would themselves be left penniless if contracting a serious illness?

is the cause of this. I know very well educated people who vote against their own best interests all the time. They don't have low IQs and are not stupid! They are uninformed. They are ill-advised. In rejecting Kant's conception of universality of ethics, i.e., if an action is moral for the Repiglican, it must also be moral for me and for everyone else, their underlying sociopathy comes through.

That said, I don't think Sarah Palin is a talented enough actress to feign her stupidity. It shows in the garbled syntax of most of her utterances (which makes Nader's recent praise of her all the more bewildering). By the time she reaches the end of one of those utterances, I'll be damned if I can remember what Palin began it with.

I explained to her that I rather liked something called Democratic Socialism, just as Senator Bernie Sandersz, talk show host Thom Hartman, and many other people do. Democratic Socialism consists of a democratic form of government with a mix of socialism and capitalism. I proceeded to explain to her the actual meaning terms “democracy” and “socialism”.

Democracy is a form of government in which all citizens take part. It is government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

Socialism is where we all put our resources together and work for the common good of us all and not just for our own benefit. In this sense, we are sharing the wealth within society.

Of course when people hear that term, “Share the wealth” they start screaming, “OMG you want to rob from the rich and give it all to the poor!” But that is NOT what Democratic Socialism means.

To a Democratic Socialist, sharing the wealth means pooling tax money together to design social programs that benefit ALL citizens of that country, city, state, etc.

They are definitely not stupid. They are cunning.

They have assaulted the good, honest, hardworking people of this country through economic deception for decades and they have gotten away with it. I would not call that stupid.

It has allowed them to shape the agenda in favor of their wealthy constituents, gaining and retaining power. That has been their game and they are successful at it. I would not call that stupid.

I would, however, call it dishonest, misguided, selfish, and many other negative adjectives. They don't give a rat's rear about the average American as long as they can boost the wealthy and starve government programs to the detriment of this country.
