3rd Candidate Liberal Loss Leaders.
No 3rd candidate who is more Liberal than President Obama can win. The only thing a 3rd candidate who is to the left of our President will do is hurt Democrat chances.

Democrats would be much better served getting a 3rd candidate to run that is left of the Republican, but right of our President. Is Ross Perot still alive?

If you want to challenge the POTUS - PRIMARY HIM. If and when you lose, back off and support the party.

PERIOD.

1. not sure I can agree with the initial assumption there
There is a fair amount of plausible-in-a-general-election territory to the left of the handmaiden of Wall Street.

2. "3rd Candidate" - not candidate.
I am saying if a 3rd candidate runs in the General Election who is to the left of President Obama, he/she will only hurt the President's chances to get reelected.

4. Is there a "Moral Victory" in Presidential Elections?
I've heard that phrase before in sports - underdog almost wins, feel good story raises hopes before team gets beat. In sports that is OK, no one gets hurt except for team, coaches friends and family. But in Politics, coming close, overcoming the odds to make it close but losing, still means the winner governs for the next four years.

3rd candidates might do well, make everyone feel good morally, but they are a disaster for who they take votes away from. THEY NEVER WIN. PERIOD, NEVER, EVER, EVER WIN.

They played well, they lost but the "Moral Victory" might mean a REPUBLICAN gets the White House.
