Turkey bans men from unruly soccer stadiums

Turkey is trying a new approach in curbing crowd violence at soccer games — kick out all the men but let women and children attend for free.

Under new rules approved by Turkey's soccer association, only women and children under 12 will be admitted to games involving teams sanctioned for unruly fan behavior.

Fenerbahce handed out about 27,000 free tickets to women and children for Tuesday's game against Manisaspor in Istanbul.

5. Bullshit.
More of the mainstream sexism "ONLY MEN ARE UNRULY AND VIOLENT".

No women have ever participated in riots. Nope. None at all.

If this were them banning all women from soccer stadiums, there'd be a revolution on these boards.

But nope.

It's fine since somehow men deserve it in some people's deranged minds.

6. usually, when a team's fanbase goes into jackass mode
it's commonplace for that country's soccer authority to punish them by making them play the next game in an empty stadium, which no one wants...

at least Fener, which is a very popular team, was able to let some people in for free who wouldn't normally go AND get a little PR boost in the process...
