Yesterday I posted about my husband losing his job
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x1972080I wanted to thank everyone on DU for all the kind words, the encouragement as well as those that took the time to look up and post links that would help during this time. I can't tell you what it means to have a community of people to turn to. I have a great family very supportive but they have their own lives and problems as well.
I've gone from crying to an anger I've never felt before. I'm trying to channel that into being productive. I've been sending out resumes all morning. I've called his cardiologist, and they're going to see about getting his most expensive medication for us for free, until he's back to work. He's been out all morning trying to network with people he's done business with.
I also wanted to say that it was another DU'er that helped put this into perspective, AlienGirl/Tucker. We've seen the tremendous amount of courage this person has shown in the face of the worst thing someone could go through. I'm inspired by them, and I would like to thank them for showing me what real strength is. I am in awe of you!
No matter how bad I think I have it, there's always someone that's worse off than me. Those are the people I need to be strong for as well.
Again, thank you to all who took the time to read my story and offer what they could by way of words, links, etc. I love all you guys! :grouphug:
Now to answer some questions that were asked:
My husband is 44, 43 when he had the heart attack. I know, he's young, and our family doctor was more shocked than we were. My husband had no risks factors, except a tad overweight...but nothing crazy. He even worked out...go figure.
What he does: He's pretty much been in construction. Project Manager/Estimator, he's worked in restoration, remediation, his most recent job--the one he lost yesterday--he was the GM for company that did all of Home Depot's floor installs, as well as granite, and tile back splash.
