Romney broke law to help Perry.
The Daily Beast reports that Mitt Romney, while head of the Republican Governor's Association, was personally aware of a $1 million donation from a Texas homebuilder to Rick Perry's 2006 gubernatorial campaign and that he discussed it with Perry's campaign aides. The final installment was personally delivered to Perry by one of Romney's top aides.

That donation was found to have violated Texas election-disclosure law. A Texas judge ruled last year the arrangement violated the law's intent to "limit undue influence over elections and fully disclose information related to contributions and expenditures for elections in this state."

2. What goes around comes around
Looks like helping Perry was not in his best interest, considering how Perry is doing in the polls. However, as Dems, we should be happy - Perry won't do well in the general election against Obama.
